Digital currency

The gap between online digital currencies and real-world transactions is set to narrow with the launch of the BitCoin debit card.

BitCoin is a completely digital currency, where exchanges between individuals are largely anonymous. Created by BitInstant, the card will enable people to withdraw cash from ATM machines and can be topped-up via its own individual QR code.

The monthly charge for the card is estimated to be between $5 and $6 on top of the sign-up fee – an important step forward for digital currency.
