New parent? Put the walkie-talkie baby monitor back in the box. What you need is Owlet, the new baby-monitoring device that sends updates to your phone throughout the night.

The device comes in the form of a slip-on ‘SmartSock’, which measures your baby’s heart rate, oxygen levels, sleep patterns and temperature, as well as his or her sleeping position.
